Love a good summer mini dress! We’re styling this navy dress with floral details three ways; for a super fun Thursday Three! A mini dress to be exact. Love a good flowy mini dress for those hot summer days. It has gotten up to 95 here in Walnut Creek and it’s only June 5th. I think we are in for a hot one this summer! But, hey…I’m not complaining.

A dress like this is so versatile; can be worn for so many summer occasions. Versatility is essential. Actually, I recently bought a dress for an upcoming vacation. But, after it hung in my closet for a few days I knew I needed to return it. It just wasn’t versatile at all! It was really only for date night and let’s face it date nights don’t happen that often. Plus, I don’t want to wear the same dress for that once a month date.

The first look is keeping it casual with a pair of simple tan slides. Throw on a straw fedora and you are ready for a summer fun day! Dirty hair and all. Wearing a hat is my favorite way to hide dirty hair and let’s face it I only wash my hair twice a week. (sounds yucky. Don’t knock it till you try it.) Curls better, gets less greasy, more body…but, that’s besides the point. Keep this dress or any dress similar to this one low key by pairing with casual sandals and a hat. Easy. Breezy. Cute.

Take it up a notch and pair the dress with wedges, a long necklace, and wedges. Adding some height immediately dresses up the outfit and a denim jacket adds great structure. A denim jacket is a staple for spring and summer! As for accessories- I am all about long dainty necklaces. You could opt for statement earrings instead.

For a more polished look opt for a short cardigan and a strappy wedge. The short cardigan gives separation from the dress. Since the dress is short and above the knee it’s best to choose a cardigan that hits at the hips. Otherwise, opt for a duster length. Anything in between just adds weight to the hips and won’t allow for the short yet, flowy dress to lay well. I went for a long necklace again; this time with a pink stone to coordinate with the pink florals in the dress.
