How to style a turtleneck is the choice of the week! A few weeks ago I asked if there were any requests for my Thursday Three posts. The turtleneck was one of the requests; such a fun piece of clothing. I’ve always appreciated a good turtleneck. However, they’re not my typical go to top. But, after this week’s styling I am loving them. The fitted top is a great layering piece for wearing all the fun trends of winter; things like faux fur coats or vests. The way the slim top balances out the bulky outwear is really nice!
How to Style a Turtleneck
First off, I love wearing black and brown together! Gone are the days when you couldn’t mix the two. Wear a black pair of jeans, brown booties, and denim jacket with your top for a casual yet, sophisticated look! A denim jacket may not be appropriate for weather conditions. Opt for a cozy cardi and wear your winter coat when heading out.
This one is so simple. Yet, makes a big statement. The fuzzy coat is such a fun trendy piece and looks great with the fitted turtleneck. I especially love how the covered up look of the top stands out against the coat. Something about the long sleeves, covered chest, and neck is so nice! As for the denim and boots- they’re fitted and created long clean lines.
Fun outerwear for the win! Another great item to wear with your turtleneck; a faux fur vest stands out and the covering/fitted top is a great combination!
Again, mix those browns and blacks, baby! Pair your top with a suede jacket, cropped denim, and black ankle boots.
Any time I find a fitted top, I have to give it a go with overalls! And the turtleneck did not disappoint! I love how it lays so nicely underneath the overalls. No need to fidget and tug at the top all day. I’m getting a real lumberjack vibe from this outfit and I ain’t mad about it! It’s a fun change from my typical feminine outfit vibes.
