Life chat + 3 show stopping looks to love!

Good afternoon! Happy Tuesday. Today I am sharing three show stopping looks to love. There’s a time and a place for these looks. Which I sure do love! A moment to be sassy; dress in something unique. I am all for it! Whether it’s a concert, date night, Vegas trip, or just wanting to rock a denim on denim look they all are sure to be show stoppers!

Life chat:

But, first let’s catch up. These past couple of weeks have felt like the start of summer! So much so that I made it up in my mind that school started at 9:25 on Monday instead of the usual 9:05. Monday is late start for our boys. I blended regular mornings with the late start day. Makes zero sense! hehe. It just feels like summer lately and I am loving it! The sun is out. We’re barbequing, slip n’ sliding, and enjoying the company of friends and family.

Are you feeling the same? Just in the mindset of summer!? Maybe it’s just me. In our favor at this time last year we were in the full swing of Summer. In Georgia schools get out at the end of May. By now were were splashing around in the pool with 90 degree weather. I really do miss the quintessential summer vibes of Georgia. The community pool was amazing and the super hot temps make for true summer vacay vibes! It felt like we were a part of the Sand Lot movie at that pool. Super fun memories.

What are you up to this summer? Sticking around town? Traveling? We have a little bit of both to look forward to.

Now, for a little dose of mom guilt. This past Sunday I woke up feeling really crumby. Nick was still out of town and I didn’t have it in me to do anything but rest, nap and rest some more. The boys watched a ton of television. Nutrition was fend for yourself till dad gets home to make dinner. I felt guilty letting the boys watch tv for that many hours. But, I needed a break. So, I let them.

Guess what?! They made it out okay! They’re still great kids and we’re back to our scheduled programming of no tv during the week (unless there’s a game on) hehe…coaching fam to the fullest! I just wanted to share this little moment. I think as mothers we take on a lot of guilt. We worry a lot about how things will shape our kids. A sign of a mother who cares! But, also we need to give ourselves grace. It is okay if they watch tv all day once and a while. We have to recognize that life is not perfect and if getting to nap all day means the tv is on while you recuperate; I personally think it’s more than okay!

What are your thoughts? Do you give yourself grace? Does the mom guilt run deep? What do you do to help keep those feelings at bay?

Sending you all the love and light today! God bless and thank you for stopping by! As always I would love to hear from you. Any thoughts are welcomed! Share in the comments.

3 show stopping looks to love!

Bustier and pants

This first one is so sassy with the zipper bustier! I love any matchy-matchy set! The pants are also great for wearing for other occasions. Same with the top. Pair the top with black jeans for a different look. Pair the pants with a black tank and heels for a modern, chic, and feminine look for a dinner date.

I would definitely wear this out with Nick on a dressy dinner date. I also think this look would be fabulous at a concert, for a special night out while on vacation. It’s got a flare and the details of the zippers, stitching, and oversized pockets make for a visually dynamic outfit!

Maybe the bustier is a bit much for you. When I first put the pants on I didn’t visualize them as a great pant option to wear as a separate. But, while prepping these photos I realized these pants on their own are so fun! Keep the top simple with a solid black tank and strappy black sandals. Let the pants make the statement. They’re an awesome option to reach for instead of jeans. Wear this look during the day with sneakers and dress up with sandals for the evening. These are a great pant to have in your closet for keeping things interesting.

Sizing: I do not have a consistent size with Zara. Sometimes I need to size up and other times I am good with going true to size. It varies. These pants do fit true to size. Wearing size small. As for the bustier– I am wearing the size small and it is snug. Great for making it feel like I have some girls to show off! I would be interested to try one size up. But, would recommend going true to size.

I tend to order a couple sizes with Zara. Especially, since they offer free shipping and free return shipping.

Jean top and wide leg jeans

I feel like Britney Spears in this look! Just missing Nick dressed up as Justin Timberlake. But, in all seriousness I am obsessed with this outfit. The top is so unassuming from the front and then you turn around and shazam! It’s so cute and so fun! Have always been a sucker for an open back!

The jeans are amazing! Again with the awesome unique pieces! Zara does not dissapoint with show stopping options! I love these with the denim top and on their own. Pair with a classic tee, a tank top, button down… you name it! They are very long. So, you’ll have to wear with heels, wedges, or platforms.

Sizing: I went with my true size small in the top. Fits great. As for the jeans, I am a bit between sizes. The size 4’s are a bit snug. I would recommend sizing up one from your typical size. Again, ordering two sizes is always an option and will likely leave you more satisfied because you’ll get to try both and find your best fit!

Jeans- wearing size 4. Size 6 would fit better in the waist and hinney for me.

Parachute jumpsuit

Okay, another open back option…I love an open back! Parachute clothing is having a moment. I think it’s really fun. I also love stepping outside comfort zone with fashion. Maybe you’re about to leave for a trip and want something so outside the box. Or maybe your love dressing outside the box on any given day! Either way this parachute jumpsuit is that! I love it. It’s so lightweight. Has all the fabulous details. A belt, drawstring hemline, adjustable halter in the back. Throw on an awesome cropped black moto jacket for your night out and rock this fabulous look!

Sizing:

Fits true to size. Wearing size small. Definitely fits true to size.
