Life chat
Good morning friends! I hope you are doing well. I don’t know about you but I am so ready for summer! I feel like it’s already started but, the boys are in still in school. We started in August back in Georgia and now don’t get out till this Friday June 16th. It’s been a long year of making lunches!! I think that is the part I am most excited about. Our mornings won’t be all about getting out the door. We won’t have to think of lunch and breakfast all at the same time. Alongside, getting dressed, brushing teeth, makin water bottles. You get it. The whole thing. I am so excited to head to the pool, hangout on our deck, play at the park. All the summer fun!
What are you excited about for summer? Any plans? Staying local or heading out of town?
Nick and I are going on a trip to Vegas in July. Otherwise, we are hanging out mostly local. Making day trips to do things as a family. We will also head to visit family on the west side of Washington in August. I am looking forward to a trip for just Nick and me. Four days of uninterrupted time. It’s been almost two years since we went on a trip and that was a 48 hour trip.
We’ve never done Vegas before! So, if you have any tips tricks or places you recommend we would love to hear them all!
Otherwise, things are pretty low key over here. We are ready for summer. We have been investing in our deck for the summer. Creating a little oasis for some summer fun! It’s already been such a dream. If you’ve been following on Instagram you know the whole thing. Lot’s of hoopla! But, it turned out so nice and for a great price! Super affordable décor!
We have also been growing our first big veggie garden. A couple years ago when we lived in California we had lettuce and green onions. It was really fun to grow those veggies and they were amazing! So much better than when bought at the store. But, this is our first go at a big garden! We’ve got tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, collard greens, onion, peppers. Everything is thriving which is so exciting! Such a fun adventure to work on together with Nick.
That’s one thing I love about a project. Yes, it’s about doing something cool and new. But, it’s also a way for a couple to connect in a new way. To work on something together and bond over something new. I love that this is a space for us to connect and feel pride in what we have built and grown together. It’s one of those things that kills two birds with one stone! So important in marriage. Relationships can become mundane and so ritualistic. It’s important to find new ways to connect and enjoy each others company. It takes work. But, it’s so worth it.
This week’s life chat as been a little bit of everything! I hope you’ve enjoyed stopping by and diving a little deeper with me. As always be sure leave a comment with your thoughts! I would love to hear from you!

A little sassy look
I am obsessed with vests this season! It’s such a great layer to add to your look. It doesn’t add a ton of weight and adds the perfect amount of dimension and visual interest! This outfit idea is a lot of things…feminine, masculine, casual, dressy! A mix of it all. Which I love! I am always a sucker for a good mix of styles!
I picture wearing this on a date night or out with friends! Head to dinner with a little sass this summer. Take a neutral sleeveless blazer add your graphic tee, black jeans shorts, and a pair of lace up heels. Recreate this look with pieces in your closet. Or if heels aren’t your thing switch em out for a pair of sneakers. That would be so cute too! More casual and comfy!
